The Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião is found near to Estádio da Luz1, the football cathedral of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. It was inaugurated on the , by the President Luís Filipe Vieira, leader of the club for more than a decade.

Since that time, Benfica grew and became the club with the largest number of associates in the world. Cosme Damião was at Benfica a player, coach, journalist, founder, occupying numerous relevancy positions in the club's history. He coached it for 18 seasons and never assumed the presidency by his own will, preferring to breathe the club closer to the pitch.
The facilities of the Benfica Museum - Cosme Damião have three floors, ground floor and two upper ones. Here, visitors can see about a thousand trophies of all sports and more than 20.000 pieces belonging to the club's collection. Since the foundation until the present, it is possible to remember legendary names like Eusébio da Silva Ferreira, known as
Pantera Negra3 or Mário Coluna, the
Monstro Sagrado4. There are also in exhibition the Cups of European Champion of / e / that Benfica won consecutively, having been this the epitome of Benfica's football.
The museum has an interactive area for supports, named Viagem ao Coração dos Benfiquistas5.
