Viewpoint of Largo das Necessidades

The Viewpoint of Largo das Necessidades, is part of the Jardim Olavo Bilac¹ and is located opposite to an historical building, built between 1743 and 1750, named as Palácio das Necessidades². Those who visit it, usually sit next to big lake fountain, on the stone benches.

Essentially, this viewpoint located in Estrela, projects its perspective to the Ponte 25 de Abril³, Cristo-Rei⁴ and the riverside line of Almada. It’s nearly impossible to see any points of interest of Lisbon as it’s pretty much on the same height level as the building’s rooftops around it.

Even the Rio Tejo⁵ is almost entirely overshadowed by the urban silhouette of Alcantra and Estrela.
