It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António (West).

Praia da Lota Beach presents a very long sand, bounded at east by the mouth (Álamo Stream). Here several bird species such as flamingos can be sighted. Seawater is calm and of a very tempting temperature. The beach acquired this name for being formerly a place where fishermen unloaded and sold fresh fish.
