Viewpoint of Moinho das Três Cruzes do Calhau

Through the northeast face of the Serra de Monsanto¹, we arrive at the Viewpoint of Moinho das Três Cruzes do Calhau ? also know by Calhau Viewpoint - located at the Parque Recreativo do Calhau², parish of São Domingos de Benfica.

We begin the walking at the car parking of Parque Recreativo do Calhau², going up through the long tarmac road and parallel to the soccer ring on the right side. The trail stretches into the woods, always going up, until a glade that guards an old wind mill in ruins. Still today exist dozens of deactivated wind mills and in an advanced stage of destruction, that where dedicated to grinding and provided flour to the city.

From here we sight a little of the east side of Lisbon. The Twin Towers of the luxury condo arise precisely in front of us, beside the Sete Rios Rail Station. It can also be seen the suspended turn of the road Eixo Norte-Sul (IP7) in front of the enormous office towers.

It is not a particularly captivating landscape because one can't see more than the modern concrete of the big urban area.

It is worthier the walking accompanied by nature that, according to the signs, didn't even reach its half way point!
