It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Portimão.

Praia do Alvor (West) Beach has a very long sand of about 2,2 Km.
It lies in a peninsula with a wide and well conserved dune system.
At west, there's the pier of the 1 bar. The Ria landscape and the river mouth of the watercourse sharing the same name, are rich in fauna and flora.
The access is via a dirt road next to a football field.
This beach holds a since 1987, the same year it was implemented across Europe.
