It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Portimão.

Praia dos Três Castelos Beach is located at the urban sea front of Portimão. It presents a very long and wide sand at the center and east sides. The strip of sand at the west, beside the stairway, is known as Praia do Amado Beach.
The east side is bounded by the Miradouro dos Três Castelos1 on top of the cliff. There's also a pier that helps accumulating more sand as time goes by.
The access is assured by three equidistant stairways along the cliff.
