It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Sines.

Praia de São Torpes Beach has a really long sand strip of about 1,6 Km.
The sea waters are hot due to its using for refrigerate the turbines of EDP - Central Termoeléctrica de Sines, a thermoelectric plant.
The beach is north bounded by piers built for pulling and retrieving water from and to the power plant. Still at this place, empties the Ribeira da Junqueira, right beside car parking.
