About the Beach
What is Prainha Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Portimão.
Prainha Beach, also known as Praia do Caniço Beach, has a medium sized sand that gets fully immersed and divided into three areas during high tide. At the middle area there are three large rocks.
Offshore, about 3,7 Km, is the artificial reef structure Parque Subaquático Ocean Revival.
The cliff's faces surrounding the beach are nearly vertical. On top of it is the Aldeamento Turístico da Prainha.
The access goes by the nearby beach at west, through a stairway, or by the elevator of the restaurant.
