What is Praia da Leirosa Beach?

It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Figueira da Foz.

Praia da Leirosa Beach has a sand with an extension if about 2 Km, bounded south by a small watercourse. There's a pier dividing it in the middle.
To the north, flows the Rego do Meio d'Água1.
A wide dune system and the Mata Nacional da Leirosa2 beautify this scenery.
The downside comes in the form of a very unpleasant smell arising from two colossal pulp mills in the vicinity: Celbi-Celulose Beira Industrial and Soporcel-Soc. Portuguesa de Papel.
