It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Figueira da Foz.

Praia da Murtinheira Beach discloses a very extensive sand - about 1,5 Km - which stretches towards south until the 1 foot.
An often rough sea is the main characteristic of this beach, hence attracting many surfers to its shoreline.
During low tide a passage to a thin strip of sand in the south part is exposed, right beneath the quarry.
The access is done by Itinerário Complementar 12.
