About the Beach
What is Praia Velha Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Marinha Grande.
Praia Velha Beach is traversed by wooden walkways which allow bathers to shortcut over the Ribeira de Moel1. Here, lies the Restaurante Bar Old Beach.
The exotic swampy area that characterizes this place is called a riparian zone.
Part of the Mata Nacional de Leiria or Pinhal do Rei2, the very long sand extends for nearly 1 Km.
There are two open wide areas to park vehicles, one beside the restaurant and
another in the southern part of the beach.
