It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim.

Praia da Barranha Beach, also known as Praia da Aguçadora (North) Beach, is situated right in front of football field.
During low tide, the characteristic inclination of this long sand becomes more evident.
The dune system widens into from the support car parking into south.
Access is available through Estrada Nacional 131, exiting west to Rua do Comão2 that crosses farm fields.
