About the Beach

What is Praia Grande de Pêra (Nascente) Beach?

Lifeguarded Beach from to
12099600
days for the start of bathing season

It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Silves.

Praia Grande de Pêra (East) Beach owns a very long sand of about 1,1 Km, divided at the mid section by a large rock known as Pedra Amarela1. This geological formation hides a less crowded area, used by naturists.
Like in its east neighbor beach, the dune system has vast dimensions. More than half of the colossal dune string is embraced by Lagoa dos Salgados2, spot where the Ribeira de Espiche3 empties. Here, the landscape is simply gorgeous!
Access is by dine by the dirt road coming from south of , ending in a long wooden walkway.
