It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Sesimbra.

Prainha Beach, also known as Praia Nova Beach, has a long sand inserted into the western end of Bay.
The waters are always quiet.
At west it's bounded by a dry dock of the marina and at east by a pier. It is still partially protected by the harbor's external pier of about 850 meters long.
There is some vegetation at the center and north areas, beside the sea side road.
