About the Beach

What is Praia da Pedra Alta Beach?

It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Viana do Castelo.

Praia da Pedra Alta Beach is part of the sea front of Pedra Alta locality.
It has a very extensive sand. To the north the stretch of sand is more isolated and therefore less frequented.
In the south area, near the houses there is a bay - the Porto de Pesca da Pedra Alta1 - which is northwest bordered by a longer pier - about 80 meters into the sea - and a smaller one at south. The configuration of piers gives bathers calm waters, sheltered from the strongest waves.
