It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Peniche.

Praia do Baleal (South) Beach is located in the eastern part of Baía de Peniche de Cima2.
The wide and long sand presents only remnants of a dune system once here existing. Sea waters are serene due to the natural protection provided by 2.
To the east lie several agricultural fields.
This beach is awarded with the since 1987, year when it was implemented in Europe.
Access is done by a village called Casais do Baleal. At the end of the trip, a very generous support car parking awaits the incoming bathers.
