About the Beach
What is Praia da Zambujeira do Mar Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Odemira.
Praia da Zambujeira do Mar Beach or Praia da Zambujeira Beach, discloses a medium extension sand that becomes wider during low tide. It's located in the sea front of Zambujeira do Mar village.
On top of the north cliff one finds the Capela da Nossa Senhora do Mar1 and a viewpoint.
Intersecting the sand is the Ribeira do Barranco da Zambujeira2.
On top of the south cliff there's the Fonte da "Ti Catarina"3. The best view over the rock standing on the water known as Palheirão is from up here.
This village became best known because of the proximity to the area where the biggest summer festival in Portugal occurs - Festival do Sudoeste - at Herdade da Casa Branca, São Teotónio parish.
